The
group were a husband and wife folk duo from Cardiff; Graham (vocals, guitars) and
Anne Hemingway (vocals, dulcimer, glockenspiel, vibes, percussion). The group's name was taken from Ernest Hemingway's
famous book. Arrangements were
by Anne. They toured extensively but only released one album, much sought after by collectors. Originally released on the self titled album in October 1970
(Village Thing, VTS 2) they received critical acclaim by the Music Press
but this did not reflect album sales. The album featured supporting musicians John Turner
(string bass, finger-picked & with a bow), and Andy Leggett (whistle
on "Suddenly It's Evening"), both of the Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra.
